Bayreuth Institute for Macromolecular Research (BIMF)

Research and teaching at the University of Bayreuth (UBT) are characterized by interdisciplinary collaboration across departmental and faculty boundaries. This is reflected both in education at all levels (bachelor’s and master’s students, doctoral programs) and in the successful acquisition of third-party funding, which has, among other things, enabled the procurement of numerous large-scale instruments.

Under the umbrella of the Bavarian Polymer Institute (BPI), the BIMF operates research infrastructure within the KeyLabs for Optical Spectroscopy and Electron and Optical Microscopy. These KeyLabs are accessible to all researchers at the university and complement the expertise of individual departments and research groups.
